When fashion comes into the big picture, the roles sports play cannot be overemphasized. These effects range from biological, thermal and external qualities of the body. Extrinsically, sporting activities have proven to be beneficial when it comes to fashion trends today.

This article will provide you with the recent effects of sport on fashion.

Recently, though, as the role of fashion designers in the sports arena has changed, this simple formula for success has grown more complex. When McCartney launched her first collection for Adidas, she talked earnestly about how women give up style when it comes to sports. During her third launch, she produced a range of hoodies, leggings, vests, and jackets in her signature colors ranging from slate grey to dusty pink and inky blue. The clothes were stylishly cut, and they have interesting design features but are still perfectly wearable and highly covetable.

Alexander McQueen launched his first collaboration with Puma that features a collection of trainers for men and women. There is a recent rush of sports wears, and Alexander's creation comes alive. He has always had a passion for sports shoes, and it shows: the sleek designs are cool enough to appeal to trainer aficionados, but they are also stylish enough for fashion crowds. The women's style is available in soft colors such as dove grey and ice blue, and their eye-catching laser-cut decors are based on the ligaments and tendons of the human foot.

Recent research shows that fashion lovers want to show their body shape and size; the men, expressing their muscles and flex their tendons. This factor also, is another reason why designers like Rei Kawakubo, the artist behind the Japanese label Comme des Garçons, has also produced a range of swimwear for Speedo. The partnership between Speedo and Rei is quite unlikely. The collaboration has created a ripple of excitement throughout the fashion industry, fuelled by the decision of Junya Watanabe, Rei's protege, to produce tracksuits tops and polo shirts for Fred Perry.

The first major designer to sign such deal was Yohji Yamamoto, who produced the Y-3 collection for Adidas. He was the first to recognize that sport-wears have greater global impact than high fashion, which explains why designers will queue up to put their name on anything sporty.

Marc Jacobs and Luella have designed trainers for Vans, while John Varvatos has collaborated with Converse, and Phillip Treacy is producing a range of stuff with Umbro.

Many of these partnerships developed in an organic way, that is, they are born out of the love of the sport that grows in the bones of these designers. Christy Turlington's passion for yoga prompted her to design her Nuala range. Sonia Rykiel's daughter Nathalie launched Rykiel Karma, which ranges from dance to yoga, Pilates and gymnastics. The collection includes trousers, body warmers, as well as accessories, including cushions, yoga mats, weights, swimming goggles, and towels.

Most importantly, designers realized the opportunity to reach a wider audience through sports and at a more affordable rate and since, have shaped the design and fashion curve.
