Now that I have the house to myself, I am the king!
Cara and Michael reluctantly left. Michael was ready for vacation and he was disappointed that Cara was going to be gone so long. So was Reggie. Cara was such a nice human.
The two people walked to the front door, opened it, waved, and locked the door as they left. Reggie was now all alone.
Reggie waited a few moments before strategically jumping one piece of furniture to another with his feline reflexes to get to a strategic vantage point to watch them leave. Michael and Cara were loading her bags into the car as Michael arranged his work shoulder bag so that it was out of the way on the driver side of the car. Reggie counted in his head for a few moments and watched as Michael mentally ran through a list in his head to ensure they had everything. Like clockwork, Michael ran back to the house, opened the door, and processed a mental checklist to verify that they had everything and that nothing was left out of the planning. Satisfied, Michael ran outside and jumped in the car. The car turned on and they backed out to leave. In moments, they were gone.
Reggie huffed because he was going to be alone for a bit without his two people, but he was used to it by now. He could go outside whenever he wanted to, but he also knew that the neighbors thought of him as an oddity and would not hesitate to call animal watch to pick him up even though he had papers and tags. Jealous much?
Reggie dreamed and in one dream one of the area cats reminded Reggie that his situation was the cat's meow and that he was a king amongst mere Toms. Reggie woke up with a smile and thought that there should be a white flag because he could not resist the urge to enjoy the situation. Reggie slyly jumped down and headed to the pantry. He rolled some cans towards the entertainment area and grabbed an assortment of snacks from the kitchen, including the refrigerator. In Cara and Michael's closet were some beach chairs. Reggie grabbed one and dragged it to the entertainment area where he proceeded to flop into his chair, grab the remote, and begin a lazy vegetable sequence of pure laziness as he caught up on the shows he was behind on.
Yes, thought Reggie, I do have it good. Besides, I'll have it all cleaned up before they get back. How much trouble can I get into? They are quite trusting :)
